WOW! what an awsome hunt on September 23rd, sat for most of the afternoon and the daylight was just starting to fade. I thought it was going to be another trip home empty handed without seeing anything at all, until four NICE bucks and several more does came strolling out of the woods. I watched in anticipation as they feed  about 65-70 yards away until a few of them came in to about 36 yards to delight on some downed persimons ( yes, deer LOVE persimons) and a young non-typical presented a shot and to my surprise I missed. He ran off into the woods blowing and directly around out the other side 8 yards in front of me so I just sat under my cedar tree as quiet as a church mouse! He moved on down along the tree line out of my view, and another nice buck came into my site at 34 yards and presented a shot....AGAIN to my surprise I hit a tree, he did not move, he just stood there dinning on simons. I crawled back to my quiver and got my LAST arrow, drew back and said a little prayer and got a lung shot just directly behind the heart and it exited out the back hip area on the other side. It took us 3 hours to find this big fella here in the missouri woods and darkness, but my wonderful husband (hunting Guide) found the deer 125 yards away just over the fench in a small culvert. I was so pumped with adrenalin that I felt I could run a marathon.

This was my first ever bow kill, and what nice 8 point it was.
