OUCH!!
That was my first reaction as I felt the needle like pain stab me in the left cheek of my Der-e air. I was at a good friends house who is a gun collector helping him re-catalog some of his guns and at the time I was vacuuming out one of the gun vaults, YES, men can run a vacuum. Apparently a Black Widow spider had found it way up my pants leg to the left cheek of my bottom side before it decided to crawl on the skin side of my body, I felt something on my bottom and as usual slapped it with my hand on the outside of my pants. BAD MOVE, the next thing I felt was a sharp stab, which resembled a needle stick from a nurse, I will always remember. So being the MACHO type guy I am I continued to finish my cleaning job and finishing up with the guns. Soon after I was home and feeling sort of nauseated at the time, and was taking a shower when my muscles started to cramp. I noticed a knot on the backside and decided I better look into the mirror. Well there it was a small white dot with a red circle about the size of 50-cent piece. Being the Macho type guy I am I jumped into some short pants, T-shirt, and fast shoes and headed to the Emergency Room.

Upon arrival I informed them that I had been bitten by a spider, which at the time I was not sure what kind, so they checked out my back side and said YEP, something poisonous has bitten you. Well now they go talking about a Brown Recluse, and now My Macho self becomes feeble. I was kept in the emergency room and given some antibiotics for the time being waiting to see if the bite was going to start killing the skin, but luckily it didn't. I was told to go home and if it got worse go to my regular doctor the next day. WELL, when I got up the next morning, IT WAS WORSE, the size of the bite had enlarged to about the size of a regular pancake with a black circle now in the middle about the size of a quarter. Well OFF I went to the doctor and emergency room again. This time I received a shot and some stronger antibiotics, well its 3 days later and all seems to be doing better, needless to say it was my first experience with a poisonous spider bite. So if you feel a sharp needle like pain and notice the white dot in the middle and a red circle around it be sure and go to see a doctor as soon as possible. Don't linger around they are dangerous.

Symptoms of the Black Widow;
Small white dot at the bite encircled by a large red ring.
Nausea, vomiting, cramping of muscles.
