Introduction

Ever since I was a kid I’ve preferred the company of males. While other girls stayed home and played with dolls, I was out with my brothers and their friends. I was always proving myself by out running them, being the sharpest shot with a sling shots or other male pursuits like scaling fences the fastest. I realized early that this would be a never ending quest to understand the male world and see things in their, often slanted, perspective.

My Dad breathed a sigh of relief when I started shunning jeans for short skirts. The interest I had toward the opposite gender as playmates however was only taking on a slightly different light. I found out, somewhere along my life, that in order to sustain the interest between a man and woman they needed to be playmates forever. I had this in mind when I settled down. I now have two boys, three girls (one married) and a husband to give love to. I have always been a participant in their lives, not just a mere spectator. But now that the children are grown, I have more time to spend with my husband, Armen.

For the past 16 years our sport was scuba diving, a very comfortable sport for me. We would go once or twice a year and that’s about the only time our hum drum life was pleasantly disturbed. We would bring our equipment out when we needed to go and ‘voila’ after the short ‘rest’, the equipment went back in the attic. This was before Armen, on his own, discovered bowhunting.
