It's a bird! It's a chopper! It's Tim Edmondson's Team NWTF Chopper.

You could not miss it as you entered the hall to the 2006 NWTF Trade Show. The gleaming lights made the chrome and wild turkey feather paint job glisten through the crowd of on-lookers. I waited my turn and closed in to get a close look at this awesome bike.

Tim Edmondson and the NWTF created this bike as a fund raiser to benefit the NWTF's outreach programs. The NWTF Chopper will tour the country in 2006 as part of a campaign to support the conservation efforts of the wild turkey and will be raffled to a lucky winner. The winning ticket will be drawn in August.

Edmondson along with partner Bill Rutcher co-founded American IronHorse Motorcycles in Ft Worth, TX in 1995. Tim started the company in his garage. IronHorse quickly grew to a company now utilizing 224,000 square feet and 336 employs capable of building 120 bikes a week.

In 2004 Edmondson sold his major interest in his company and in Dec 2005 sold the rest of his shares. Tim wanted to spend more time with his wife, four children and one grandchild. This also gives Tim more time hunting and fishing, a passion introduced to him by his dad. Tim also spends time on horse back and is a team roper.

Tim did start another business in 2004, Edmondson Custom Built Motorcycles in North Richland Hills, TX. His Dallas area 15,000 square foot studio now employs 10 and specializes in full-custom designs and "one-off" parts and accessories for motorcycles, hot rods and other land craft.

Tim told me to stop buy and he would show me his ranch when I'm in Texas for a Rio Grande turkey hunt. And I'll have to wait until August to pick up my new NWTF-Chopper (I did buy a chance).
