The
Grand National Wild Turkey Call Making competition honors one of our nation's
oldest folk arts: wild turkey call making. Here
are pics of some of the highlights of the entries.
The NWTF Sport Show - Day 1 (Feb 16) One of the outstanding events at this show is the taxidermy contest for game birds. The Duck and I stopped there first and took pictures of every entry and one of the judges and a wild turkey hunter and his family who frequents Bowhuning.Net.
(Feb 15) It rained hard the last 500 miles and we didn't make as good a time as expected. Meaning, we arrived in Columbus two hours after the NWTF Welcome Party started. Oh well, a little extra sleep never hurt. I'm turning in early and will check everything out tomorrow morning. In Route to the NWTF Show (Feb
14)
I love being on the road. New radio stations, different looking country, restaurants I've never eaten at. Right now we're listening to the Ducks favorite radio station, K-DUK in Little Rock. Once we get closer to Memphis we should be able to pick up DJ Tom Joiner and see what he's up to these days. (The Duck and I are on the way to Columbus, Ohio to cover the National Wild Turkey Federation 2001 Convention & Show.)
