SPECTATOR ACTIVITIES GALORE DURING NABH CHAMPIONSHIP

Spectators will find no shortage of fun and entertainment during the North American Bow Hunting (NABH) Championship beginning in Oklahoma City, OK on July 30, at the Trosper Archery Club tournament grounds at Trosper Park in Oklahoma City. The park is located on S.E. 29th Street, a mile east of I-35.

Archery fans are invited to cheer on their favorite Hunter Division competitors, watch as the nation's top touring pros compete for a share of the prize money, or simply come out and enjoy one of the many spectator activities planned during the event.

The 3-D archery extravaganza kicks off at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 30, with a special Pro/Am Team competition. This afternoon of shooting fun allows Hunter Division or first-time 3-D archers to draw in, and shoot a 20-target round with a Pro and two other non-pro shooters. Youth Events
Throughout the weekend, aspiring young archers can receive free hands-on shooting instructions from Easton Pro Staffers during the Easton Kid's Balloon Shoot. Youth archers are also encouraged to sign up by 5 p.m. on July 31 for one of several youth-model bows to be given away on Saturday.

Archery for Kids Program
Youngsters interested in improving their aim are invited to join many of the nation's top touring Pros for free one-on-one shooting instructions during the NABH "Archery for Kids" program. Planned for 5-6:30 p.m. on July 31, the special event is sponsored by Easton Technical Products, Hoyt, Seneca and the APA. Youngsters interested in participating in the "Archery for Kids" program or the free bow drawing should register by 5 p.m. Saturday at the Easton Booth.

Non-Competitive Fun Ranges
For those wishing to try their hand at 3-D archery, the
non-competitive fun ranges will be open to the public during the event. The fun ranges open at noon on Friday, and will be open throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. Archers can shoot the fun ranges as much as they wish during the weekend for a $15 fee. Wear your LaCrosse, Danner or Red Ball boots and get a $5 discount. To promote more family participation, kids under 12 years of age can shoot the fun ranges for free, when accompanied by an adult who pays a reduced fee of $10.

Special Dog Training Seminar slated For Archery Chamionship.
Dog fanciers are certain to enjoy a special program presented by experts from the Innnotek Sporting Dog Division. Scheduled for Saturday afternoon, the program will focus on common training techniques and problems facing the typical dog owner.

Music & BBQ Cookout
Other special spectator activities include free music and a BBQ cookout beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, as well as exhibits and displays by NABH sponsors throughout the weekend. Admission for all spectator activities is free.

Main Event
The actual  "main event" competition gets underway at 7:30 a.m., July 31. Hunter Division competitors take to the courses for two days of exciting 3-D archery action. The Pro classes begin at noon on Saturday with a shotgun start. 

In addition to the special Pro/Am and main event, Pro and Hunter Division competitors alike will vie for the coveted "Shooter of the Year" titles.

T.R.U. BALL/SPECIALTY ARCHERY "SATURDAY SHOWDOWN"

Hunter Division participants competing in the "short distance" divisions during the NABH Championship will have an opportunity to participate in the special T.R.U. Ball/Specialty Archery Products "Saturday Showdown," scheduled for Saturday afternoon, July 31, at the Trosper Archery Club Grounds located on S.E. 29th Street, a mile east of I-35.

This special sudden-death 3-D archery event, held at the conclusion of the Day One competition, is designed specifically for spectators and media coverage. Participants in theT.R.U. Ball/Specialty Archery Products "Saturday Showdown," sponsored by Tomorrow's Resources Unlimited (T.R.U. Ball) and Specialty Archery Products, will compete head-to-head for a portion of the event's added $500 purse. 

Saturday Showdown
The "Saturday Showdown" features the top shooters (at the conclusion of the Day One competition) from the Men's Hunter Limited, Barebow, Traditional, Physically Challenged, and all Youth divisions. 

The first-place winner in this special "stand alone" competition
receives a check for $300, with a $150 check awarded to the competitor finishing in second place. The third place finisher in receives a check for $50.

"To ensure a fair competition between the various Hunter classes, participants will shoot from their respective stakes (using the NABH standards for the various classes)," said NABH Shooting Events Director Eric Banks. "We're very excited about this special competition, and it has proven quite popular among our shooters, the media and spectators."

 Spectators and participants can also enjoy numerous other activities scheduled during this two-day "world-class" archery competition. Other attractions include concessions, seminars and a special youth shooting event. Spectators are also invited to see the big "sports show" tent filled with exhibits and displays by NABH sponsors.
