Nation's Top Archers Set Sights on the the NABH Championship in Oklahoma City OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The nation's finest professional and amateur archers will gather in Oklahoma City, OK on July 30-Aug. 1 for the Kawasaki/Game Finder Championship - the crown jewel of the North American Bowhunters (NABH) 1999 tournament circuit. The NABH Championship is the final stop following a grueling four-event qualifying tour that brought archers to different locations throughout the continental United States. Only the nation's finest professional and Hunter Division 3-D archers are expected to compete in this world-class competition to be held at the Trosper Archery Club tournament grounds in Oklahoma City. Championship berths will go to all pros placing in the top 20 during each of the NABH Qualifiers. Realizing fully well that Hunter Division competitors are the foundation of the 3-D archery world, NABH extends Championship invitations to all Hunter Division and Semi Pro shooters competing in any 1999 NABH Qualifier. This "world-class" 3-D archery event kicks off at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 30, with a special Pro/Am Team competition. This afternoon of shooting fun allows Hunter Division archers to draw in and shoot a 20-target round with a Pro and two other non-pro shooters. competition in six pro and semi-pro classes; including Pro Men's Open,
Pro Women's Open, Pro Men's Limited, Pro Men's Senior (50 years and older),
Men's Semi Pro and Women's Semi Pro. Hunter Division competitions include
Men's Hunter Open, Men's Sr. Hunter Open, Women's Hunter Open, Men's Hunter
Unlimited, Men's Hunter Limited, Men's Barebow, Traditional and several
Youth and Cub classes. Pro division competition kicks off Saturday at noon
with a shotgun start. Hunter Division competitions begin at 8 a.m. on

In addition to the world-class competitive 3-D action, event organizers are planning a genuine gala outdoor celebration during the Kawasaki/Game Finder Championship weekend. Outdoor enthusiasts can attend a free mini-outdoor show and visit with vendors displaying numerous archery and hunting-related products. Hosted by Trosper Archery Club in OKC
In addition to the lifelike McKenzie Targets situated in natural surroundings, NABH archers will face a variety of lighting and footing conditions. "The terrain here includes large stands of mature hardwoods, with flats, gullies and hills, offering numerous challenges ranging from shaded tunnel shots to uphill and downhill shooting situations," says Eric Banks, NABH Shooting Events Director. "All of these features will be utilized to make each target as close as possible to a realistic hunting scenario." Archers wishing to tune up before the competition, or simply test their skills at 3-D archery, can utilize the fun ranges all three days. The fun ranges open at noon on Friday and will be open throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. Archers can shoot the fun ranges as much as they wish during the weekend for a $15 fee.
