TrailTimer - I was lucky enough to field test the new EZ-CAM Game Camera and is hands down the best 35mm game camera I have ever used. You turn it on and off, like every other electronic gadget. (No magnets or hocus pocus that doesn't work half the time.) Tje EZ-Cam is either on or off and you know which it is. The optional Event Counter is a great aid. I counts the number of times the beam in interrupted even after the film is used up. A bear chewed on mine and it was ok so the housing is pleny tough enough. Plus the price is low. Quality at a fair price. Thanks Dean Reidt, we needed that.

Diamond Archery had their bow accessories on display. Their 7 arrow Quick Release Bowquiver has interchangeable grips for carbon or aluminum arrows. Wild Thing is a hi tech stabilizer for today's bows. The Hush Kit contains assorted shock eliminators to be used on a bow and bow accessories. They also have a complete mid price bow line.

Dury Outdoors display of DVD's and videos introduced their newest trophy whitetail buck and wild turkey hunts.

RENZO'S Decoys are a new decoy idea. They have deer, wild turkeys, elk and predators. One of the big problems with decoying deer has been that the decoys are too big to get around with easily. Not so with Renzo's. They are flat, printed on both sides, and cut out true to life. And they fold up to a reasonable carrying size. Plus they are very light weight. Their Whitetail Buck really knocks me out. From whatever angle I view it from the buck is looking at me. Yep, Renzo's understands what makes decoys work.

Gary Todd's goal at PRO RELEASE is to increase your accuracy. He introduced his newest brain child the LITE-SPEED NOCKING SYSTEM. The system includes nocks, a special sleeve that clips on your bowstring at the nocking point. The nock clips on the sleeve for a perfect fit and the unit increases your bow speed, shot consistency and accuracy. It is a slick unit and I ordered one. Also new are BRITE-LITE Optical Fibers for sighting in a variety of colors and Thumper Small Game Blunts (nice job here too).

Notable bear hunter Bill Weisner's bow line, Renegade Bows, have created its nitch with modern bowhunters. The top cams have a cool, unique look to them. Don't let the bows high tech design fool you, these bows are tough and they hit hard. Bill knows what it takes to put a monster bear down fast and that train of thought works the same for all other big game.

The Tundra Series from Alpine Archery are built around a slick new concept. The riser is modular. Modular construction permits the building of the much in demand parallel limb bows, which normally have very long risers, at a big cost savings. Top quality at a lower price, always a good idea. New "Integrated Accessories" are designed from the ground up to work perfectly with these new Alpine super bows

Weber's Camo Leather Goods has a variety of camo items. Steering wheel cover, cool looking sandals, pen sets, wallets and even ladies bikini underwear.  If you know who is listening I'd sure like a camo pen set for Christmas.

S.G.H. means "Small Game Head" and that it is. Broadheads lack shock power and they can really tear up the animals. This head looks like a good one.

Hunter Safety System's new Tree Stalker Safety System incorporates an easy to put on camo vest with a waist belt and leg harnesses for safe treestand hunting. In the Professional Series is equally stout and the vest has more pockets for hunting stuff. A simpler safety system named the Transformer has shoulder straps that fasten to the belt and leg harness, plus a back pad to give more comfortable back support against the tree.

Rinehardt 3D Targets introduced two good looking new 3D targets, an african leopard and a red fox. They also have a new round target that has aiming circles on it. You or someone else tosses it with its attached strap and then shoot while it is moving. Very nice and I wanted to check it out in the booth but they were very busy and didn't want to interrupt anyone. For anyone wanting to brush up by shooting moving targets this looks like the ticket.

AfterShock Archery introduced a truly new expandable broadhead concept last year. You have to see it to understand how unique it is. It opens when the last 1/4 of the broadhead ferrule enters the animal. The original had a very wide 2-blade cut and the newest AfterShock is a smaller version. They were kind enough to give me two of the originals and I can't wait to test it on a wild boar.

Turbo Nock provides a high tech answer to nocking arrows more accurately time after time. The nock stays on the bowstring and the arrow is fitted with an insert that slips inside the nock. Magnetism holds them in place. I've had 3D shooter people tell me that they stomped all over everybody with this nocking system.

Doniker had an array of archery stabilizers for 3D, competition and hunting, long ones, short ones and everything in between. I'm one of the few that rarely uses a stabilizer. But I can clearly see that Doniker is serious about reducing vibration. He's turned a bunch of people on to suspenders too.

MAGNUS - We're talking serious traditional style broadheads here, for both traditional and compound bows. New for 2005 is the BUZZ CUT, a 100 grain 4-blade with serrated edges for increased cutting surface, coming and going.
