Bowhunting.Net Awarded Gold Award
for Web Excellence by NetGuide Magazine
Bowhunting.Net has been awarded the ‘Gold Award’
for excellence in a web site, from NetGuide Magazine, the premier publication
serving the Internet.
This
is an incredible award for the site and for the archery and bowhunting
industries. NetGuide’s Scoring system rates the sites from 1 to 5 stars.
Ratings are based on a dozen attributes summarized in 5 categories: Ease
of Use, Content, Design, Personality, and Navigation. The Gold Award recognizes
Web sites that are rated excellent in the above categories. We are honored
to win it but mainly because of what our site represents, bowhunting. On
the internet we are in amongst thousands of sites that are not only more
heavily financed but also more in the main stream. We are pleased to be
able to put our sport in the lime light in such a positive manner.

The Young Bowhunters Club is an integral part of the
Family Corner on bowhunting.net.
This is a virtual community made by young bowhunters for young bowhunters.
The purpose of the YBC is to:
- 1. Be a gathering place for the online, youth, bowhunting community.
- 2. Keep young bowhunters up to date with what’s going on in the world
of bowhunting.
- 3. Provide a place where youth who are curious about--or interested
in--bowhunting can learn about it.
- 4. Communicate about bowhunting and archery on a kids level.
- 5. Meet other kids who are bowhunters or who are interested in bowhunting.
- 6. Exchange ideas, experiences, tips, and information about bowhunting
with other kids.
- 7. and to have fun!
Young Bowhunters Club has a number of events for youth.
- The interactive, electronic Newsletter covers a variety of topics from
a kids perspective. (It even has a cartoonist who draws humorous bowhunting
cartoons.) It’s edited and updated regularly by Brian Pullam, the founder
of Young Bowhunters Club and the Electronic Events Coordinator for the
club.
- The club has it’s own CLUBHOUSE. It is an interactive forum where Kids
post messages, ask questions, answer questions, find other kids who are
bowhunters, or just say hello to other kids.
- YBC LIVE CHAT for KIDS is for the club members and kids who want to
chat with other kids. They chat online, live, with other bowhunting youth,
from all over the US as well as other countries.
- Kids are being encouraged to contribute their own web pages, artwork
and graphics for Club projects and events.
- Contests are being scheduled to be held and bowhunting and archery
gear will be the prizes.
- Columns are encouraged and new ones are added from time to time. At
press time a popular column (with both youth and adults) is Novice Bowhunter
by Thomas French, a veteran hunter and new bowhunter from Jefferson City,
Missouri. Thomas is the YBC New Bowhunter Co-ordinator and authors
a YBC column named New Bowhunters Nook.
- The club mascot is the ARROW GREMLIN. That mystical character who gathers
up those lost arrows and hordes them where they can’t be found. A contest
is forthcoming for the best depiction of the arrow Gremlin.
One of the unique things about the Internet is it provides an electronic
forum that is accessible from anywhere. Kids contribute from all over the
world. For example, Brian’s Newsletter team is in Florida, Arizona, Texas,
Missouri and New Mexico.
The Young Bowhunters Club can be contacted at ybc@bowhunting.net. It’s
home on the Internet is www.bowhunting.net/ybc
