LIVE THE DREAM

By Scott Haugen

South Africa
is the place where dreams are
made, and

my last safari proved to be just that.
  Over the course of a

month I traveled to three different regions of
South

Africa and took 27 different animals,
including some

 whoppers.

We completed 15 TV shows for Wolf
Creek

Productions and once again, my Rocky Mountain
broadheads proved how

valuable quality and dependability is in my
line of

 work.

Lion

The first hunt found me found me with
Peter Tam of

 Tam’s Safaris, where I took a lioness at 42
yards.

She was laying down, facing me, and I took the
frontal

shot, one I love when the conditions are
right.
  The

arrow entered beneath her chin, took out the
top of

the heart, hit lungs and passed through,
exiting by

 her tail.

She went eight yards and died, proving how

 fatal the Rocky Mt. Titanium
100 broadhead is.

Scimitar Horned Oryx

The first record book antelope came
at 74 yards,

 where again the Ti-100
 proved effective.
  A

scimitar horned oryx fell to that shot, and
it’s among

the top three reportedly ever shot with a
bow.

I also
got the pending world record rhino (darted)
with Tams.

Bontebuck

Cape Kudu

Moving to Cullendale Safaris with
PH Guy Hockly, the

 record book pace continued.
  Here the Titanium proved

lethal on the new pending number 4 bontebuck
and the

 pending number 6 East
Cape kudu.
  The kudu went 40

 yards and died.

Bushbuck

Using the Turbo broadhead, my arrow

flew true on a top 10 bushbuck, one of the
most

addicting animals to hunt in Africa.

Springbuck

Steenbuck

The last safari destination found me at Julian

 Theron’s Jules of The Karoo
Safaris.
  Here I relied on

the Ironhead 100 to secure a white springbuck
that

ties the current world record, but will likely
rank

 number two after drying.
The last day of the safari

found me in search of the tiny but highly
prized

steenbuck, and with the Turbo, I was able to
secure

 the pending number 4 ram.
  I also took a top 20 common

springbuck using the Ironhead 100, perhaps my
most

 preferred, all-around big game blade.

White Springbuck

On all of my hunts I used BowTech’s
Allegiance set at

81 pounds and shooting 310 feet per
second.
  All of my

Gold Tip Ultralight Pro 400 arrows were tipped
with

the only broadheads I use, Rocky Mountain!

Thanks for turning out such a fine
product.
  Of all

the animals I’ve taken around the world, Rocky

Mountain Broadheads have NEVER let me down.
