What It Takes To Bear Hunt

If you go to Canada to bear hunt you need the right bug dope and bug proof clothing or your hunt will be a nightmare. When you hunt, remember it's important to control your scent. Bear's have an excellent nose.
I recommend you use bacon and honey burns (see how to make burns and how well they work in Jaws & Claws I & 2). You need Sterno and a Sterno Stove to make effective burns. Their sweet smelling smoke reaches deep into the woods and brings bears to you. Game Monitors are a good idea, they can tell you if baits are being hit or not. And don't go without Ultimate Bear Lure. It really does work.
I also recommend that you take your own treestand with you. That way you are insured you have a stand you are familiar with. Be sure your treestand has a comfortable seat because you will probably have some long waits. Also, don't leave without a String Tracker string, but it's main purpose is not for use on your arrow. Tie it at the bait site and let it unravel as you track your bear. When you find it follow the string back out. It can save you a lot of unnecessary walking if you get disoriented in the dense, vast forests of the far North.
