| EVALUATION:
Wildlife Research Center's Scent Killer Products, by Dave

The first Saturday in October is a special time as it is opening day of archery season here in Ohio. As I have stated before in other evaluations, bowhunting to me is indeed a year round sport. After season, in late winter, I immediately go into scouting mode for next year’s fall season. Early spring allows me to hunt for sheds followed by intense glassing during summer of the hot areas I found form the late winter scouting. Shooting and tuning the bow is the most intense as it never stops throughout the year. However one critical and often overlooked step is the preparation in the few weeks leading up to the season. Most think the work is done and it is time to look forward to the opener. Not so because this time is used to pull the old as well as new hunting clothes out of storage and begin the tedious job of odor elimination. As soon as last hunting season is over I store all of my hunting clothes in waterproof bags and air tight containers. This is the first step in preparing them for next season. I store them in the basement on my special hunting shelves, up off the floor and away from other family storage which may include holiday decoration. Wouldn’t want anyone rummaging through my stuff for “garage sale” kind of things which sometimes wives are notorious for doing! The next step in preparation is washing and deodorizing every bit of
clothing a few week before season begins. I rely heavily on Wildlife
Research’s Scent Killer Powder or Liquid Clothing Wash. It not
only cleans but chemically destroys any foreign odor. It is safe,
bio-degradable and contains no U.V. Brighteners that portray that “glowing
effect”. After washing I have the luxury of hanging my clothes out
in the woods behind the house. While drying I give them a quick going
over with Scent Killer Spray. This not only insures odor elimination
but gives the clothing an additional protective layer after drying.
The morning of my hunts I continue to rely upon Wildlife Research Products. I start off by showering with Scent Killer Liquid or Bar Soap and Shampoo. The Liquid Soap and Shampoo are great products to pack with you on out of town hunts because of convenient squeeze bottle packaging. All are unscented and give you the assurance of effectively eliminating odors at the source. The Shampoo is beneficial because the superior formula really cleanses odors that become trapped and build up in your hair. After toweling off I continue my routine with Scent Killer Anti-perspirant & deodorant. Wildlife Research gives you either option of an easy roll on or stick. Both give you long lasting protection from odor and keep you dry. I actually start using the shower and deodorant products around a week before season in preparation. I even go as far as using them every morning during the season even if I am not hunting. This reassures me throughout the season that I am doing the best job possible in eliminating odors. No cologne, shaving gels or after creams for me during season, just straight Scent Killer products. Next while dressing I spray between each layer of clothing with Scent Killer Spray. After dressing the last thing I do before walking to my stand is to spray down liberally with the spray. I especially concentrate on my boots as well as giving a light spray over my bow, backpack and other equipment. I like to use the handy 24 ounce spray bottle. I keep either a 32 ounce or gallon bottle in reserve for refills. The best thing about Scent Killer Spray is that even after drying the odorless formula will give me the protection I need for an all day hunt. I even keep a small 4 ounce bottle in my backpack for situation where I feel a need to spray down on stand. I rely heavily on Wildlife Research scent eliminating products. The main reason is the proof of having worked for me in the past. Six out of the last seven years I have connected on trophy animals. Four of those qualify for Pope and Young and another one that doesn’t, which scores just over 158, was because it was taken with a muzzleloader. Last year I failed to fill a buck tag but that was of my own choosing. I set my standards on two bucks, one which was a mid 150 and the other a definite 160 class buck. I had them close three different times, thanks in part to Scent Killer products, but a hot doe on two occasions and fading daylight on another proved my undoing. Proof is also in the pudding as last year I have four pictures of a 140 plus class eight point with over 12 inch G2’s standing within 20 yards of my treestand. Instead of using my bow I used the camera to capture this awesome whitetail. I also passed on four other opportunities of Pope and Young bucks scoring anywhere from the high 120’s and 130’s. All offered easy shots within 15 yards of my treestand. One, a nice nine point, walked directly under my stand, giving me a good opportunity to guesstimate his 20 inch spread. Many of these deer were on the downwind side showing no effects. So no matter what product you choose in the scent elimination arena, Wildlife Research has a product to keep you covered. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them as long as I am able to chase big whitetails as well as other scent conscious game. Besides if you are not completely satisfied Wildlife Research backs it up with a 100% money back guarantee. For information on these and other products contact: WILDLIFE RESEARCH
