I
have been an archer since 1953. Being born in 1946 that means I started
shooting when I was 7. Tossing arrows into hay and my dads back wall of
his barn, the holes are still there, and shooting in the field in back
of the 19 century barn gave me some experience in missing. In 1977-78 I
met a man named Emery Loiselle as I was the North East rep for the Mass.
Bowhunters Assn. This man was and continues to give honest appraisals of
bows made today and you can still find him the pages of BOW & ARROW
Magazine.
This magazine was founded in 1963 and continues to be my favorite. There
are a lot of great ones out there but this one has some intrinsic ties
to me. When you look at the columnists you get awestruck!
Monthly columns by Chuck Adams (maybe the most famous bowhunter of all
time) Lisa Price, Emery and legendary bowhunter writer Greg Tinsley. Add
in columns by Ted Nugent, Joe Blake, Tim Strickland and their able editor
Joe Bell. You cannot get a better-rounded crew to establish and maintain
a bowhunting magazine than this.
All the articles are timely, informative and professionally done. From
recurve to the fastest compound all the ground is covered here. Joe Bell's
comments are right on target and he lets the reader know what his opinions
are for the good of the sport and some times it needs to be said. Joe is
a leader in the field and continues in the age old tradition of all good
leaders.....be surrounded by the best.
Why not learn target shooting from the coach of the Olympic team, Tim
Strickland and bowhunting from Chuck Adams?
Traditional shooting from Joe Blake and the always controversial Ted
Nugent who pulls no punches in his views. Emery has long been known as
a dealer, a bowhunter and one of the premier bow tester/evaluator in the
history of the compound bow! His expertise and views are done honestly
professionally and he tells it like it is. Truly one who has not only evaluated
but has also designed bows that were way ahead of their time.
You want info on our sport go to all the good magazines listed on www.bowhunting.net
but if you have not tried BOW & ARROW HUNTING please do so. It's not
the largest but I'll bet if you do, you'll be glad you did.
