ARIZONA E-Z FLETCH

Easy to do, perfect fletching, fast, and it's fun. What more could a bowhunter ask for? Ah, how about cost? Here too the E-Z Fletch comes out on top.

Unlike a lot of archers and bowhunters I am not a tinkerer. I can hold my own with computer and internet stuff but mechanical things have always been and continue to be a mystery to me. Anyone who knows me will tell you the same, quite likely without you asking.

That said, it should come as a surprise to know that when I go on hunts -- which happily is quite frequently these days -- I always carry an Arizona E-Z Fletch along with extra feathers and cut to length shafts in my bow case.

Given my preceding confession you must surely conclude a few of things about this product. Number one, it is drop dead easy to use. Fail-safe. Even for a guy that can only hit a nail with the hammer once out of every of three (or four) swings.

Secondly, it fletches arrows so easily and so well. Perfect. Even in the field. Heck, especially in the field, that's why I always have one with me.

Third, it is fast. If you've ever fletched your own arrow with a fletching jig you know how painfully slow arrow making can be. But not so with the Arizona E-Z Fletch. Absolutely not. We're talking less than a minute per arrow.

Before I discovered this marvel of a fletching tool I had not fletched my own arrows in almost 30 years! Too much trouble -- and way too slow. So I would rather pay someone else to do it. Now I fletch them all the time. I fletch with feathers most of the time but sometimes I run into some neat colored vanes and make a few arrows up with them. I love dipped and crested arrows but back when I tried to dip my own I made a big mess instead. But I like the new wraps, they are easy to put on, they're very cool. I regularly change color schemes and fletch up 4 or 5 arrows.

It's fun. Pure and simple.

I just returned from a bear hunt in Ontario. I did not take finished arrows along. Instead I took 5 shafts, some wraps, and a bag of feathers and fixed up my own fluorescent red wrapped and fletched arrows the day before the hunt. And had a good time doing it.

The unit is simple to understand. Which is important to a mechanically deprived person.  The unit has three sections. The part you put the nock in, the arms that the feathers go in, and the clamp that holds the arms in exactly the right place as the glue dries.

You poke the nock in the nock slot. It clips in there good and tight. Then you load a feather or vane into each of the arms -- each one has a slit in them, it's a no brainer. You apply glue to the feathers and close the arms the only way they can close. Then you slide the clamp over them and lock it down.

Bingo. As soon as the glue dries -- just a few minutes -- you fletched yourself an arrow.

There are three different Arizona E-Z Fletches. The ARIZONA E-Z  FLETCH  is a compact, lightweight unit that is easy to use, even in the field. The E-Z FLETCH PRO automatically adjusts to any size arrow shaft from 2013 to 2613. It comes in straight, straight offset, right or left helical and will also do any style of three or four fletch with nothing extra to buy.  The ARIZONA E-Z FLETCH Carbon Arrow model will fletch the smallest carbon shaft up to a 2018 aluminum.  This new, patented design ensures precision alignment and includes interchangeable arms.

Design:    5 of 5
Perfect. You look at it and can figure it out without refering to any of those instructions that more often than not confuse me.

Value:    5 of 5
The prices of fletching gigs, etc., range widely. The Arizona E-Z Fletch is in the low end bracket. Excellent value.

Quality:    5 of 5
Perfect arrows time after time. Every one just like the last.

Ease of Operation:      5 of 5
This feature cannot be overstated! Randy Phillips wanted his Arizona E-Z Fletch to be a fletching tool that was simple to operate for the average person. Well, Randy definitely did that! If you've ever wanted to fletch your own arrows but didn't because of the hassle, this is the product for you.
