the TreeSuit
by Dave Conrad

With a priority set on stealth and mobility, many treestand hunters should look into the Treesuit. Labeled as an alternative to treestands, the Treesuit is highly portable and rugged with security as a priority. How many times walking through the woods have you found the perfect setup and wished you had brought a treestand? The Treesuit may change that because this highly portable system is hardly noticed when strapped about your waist, even during lengthy hikes. It also doesn't hamper movement while walking or drawing your bow like a conventional treestand.

Like I mentioned security is a priority. You are secure from the entire time you arrive at your hunting location. While ascending and descending, the Treesuit can be used as a climbing belt. While elevated, the suit doubles as a safety harness. Probably one of the Treesuit's best features is that all safety straps connect to below the waistline. This assures no straps interfere or tangle with your weapon while preparing for a shot.

With a large seat that conforms to your thighs and butt the Treesuit is very comfortable. Comfort is the key to hours of enjoyable hunting. You also have total freedom of movement, standing or sitting, which allows you unlimited shooting positions. The tough poly-seat braces against the tree so your thighs are not pinched while sitting or leaning back.

Installation is quick as the Treesuit attaches to the tree with 3 snap hooks. And because there is no metal on metal contact the Treesuit is very quiet. There are no metal welds or bolts to worry about squeaking as you move into shooting position. How many times has that happen causing that trophy animal to bolt! Freedom of movement also gives you a shot at a target positioned on the backside of the tree as well as behind you.

Concealment against the tree eliminates your quarry from silhouetting you. Many treestands place you out away from the tree allowing game to pick you out. A choice of either Mossy Oak or Realtree is available to assist in concealment.

Lugging heavy treestands to remote areas are a thing of the past as well as the sweat and odor associated with it. No more getting tangled or bumping into brush with oversized stands. The Treesuit is also theft proof because it is very portable. When you leave, it goes with you. Leaving stands up on public ground or private ground where others have permission can lead to theft as well as someone hunting from your favorite stand. Worst yet it tells others where your favorite hunting spot is.

The Treesuit also allows you to hunt not so straight trees, as well as trees with limbs that a climbing treestand can't be installed around.

Included with the Treesuit is an instructional tape. The tape is very informative and takes you through the uses of the device step by step. It also instructs you how the Treesuit doubles as a back support and equipment carrier while walking to your hunting area.

The Treesuit is constructed of rugged 1000 Danier Cordura nylon, comes in three sizes and is weight limited up to 300 pounds. It is rugged enough to take the constant torture of tree bark while positioning between standing and sitting. The Treesuit is to be used in conjunction with treesteps, portable-climbing sticks or Tree Spurs/treestep combinations.

Design 4 of 5
The Treesuit is a simple yet effective design. You won't know how comfortable the Treesuit actually is until you have tried it. The seat conforms to your thighs and butt and allows for hours of hunting. It is also designed so that the safety straps will not hinder your hunting abilities.

Ease of Use 4 of 5
The Treesuit is easy to put on with hardly any effort. Once at your desired hunting height just buckle the remaining straps and slip the seat between your legs. Unfortunately no one has come up with a way of magically climbing a tree. You must use treesteps and/or climbing sticks to get to your determined height. Other than that all you need to know how to do is connect three snaps.

Durability 5 of 5
Made from a rugged Danier Cordura construction. That combined with a poly-seat should give you years of dependable service. As with any climbing device, belts should be checked frequently to be sure of stability.

Functionality 4 of 5
The TreeSuit is versatile both during the season, as well as a tool used when hunting an area for the first time. You can strap it on, still hunt an area and if you find what you think may be a productive spot, climb a tree and settle in.
