We just got the new BOWTECH 'Rascal' Bow in and let me tell you, this is one diminutive bow that is going to get a lot of attention with younger archers and adults with shorter draws. This 24 3/8" axle-to-axle bow is one hot little arrow launcher.

It comes like all BowTech bows; equipped with machined aluminum riser, limb pockets and cams. The upper cam is a round idler cam that performs flawlessly with the one cam that is on the bottom end of the Gordon glass limbs. The carbon cable guard is factory installed on the bow when it comes out of the box. The RASCAL is a mere 2.0 lbs and  has a brace height of 7.5" for forgiving but fast shooting by youngsters.

The Factory says that this bow will do 256-262 fps speeds at 25-inch draw at 40lbs with a 200-grain arrow. Name another bow this light, short and low poundage that will do that? The draw length goes from 19-25 inches with the poundage running peak weights of 20, 30, & 40 lbs..

Well, we wanted to find out if this bow did what the company says it will?

So to the chronograph we went. Joe and "Snooky" Poulin were interested in this bow so they brought in her 22 1/2"1713 xx75 platinum arrows with feathers at 230 grains. The RASCAL was set at 22" draw set up at 41 lbs.  using a release Snooky shot three arrows through the pro chrony. The first arrow went through at 210, the second at 212 and the third went zipping through at 212 also. This comes out with an average speed of 211.333

The factory spec sheet that came with the bow stipulated that the bow at 41 lbs, 22 inch draw using a 200 grain arrow would do 236 fps. All specs being the same except the weight of the arrow (Snookys'  was 230 grains) the bow was consistent: 30 grain translates into 15% difference in feet per second, which is 242.65. This bow smokes!!!! Needless to say they bought the bow.

Can you imagine a kids bow that at 40 lbs 22 inch draw with a carbon arrow that could out shoot a 26 inch draw compound  at 50 lbs!!!!!! Heck, my compound at 26" 55 lb bow with 2213's is doing between 225-230 fps.  So if you want high quality with a life time warranty in a fast, good looking  bow this is one.

The colors are mind boggling also. From Bubble Gum, Teal and Purple, to Razzelberry, (light purple, green and black), Cherrycari (red, purple and black) Licorice Hunter, (camo limbs black handle) to Licorice,(all black) you can get it in the flavor you want. Here is a bow that will perform on paper, 3Ds, and bowhunting deer as well.
