There is a new style of hunting video hitting the market these days.
One that goes beyond the norm and takes the viewer along on a more complete
adventure. Arrowhead Adventure's president, Gary Bogner, has set
out to produce such a video in "Passport to North American III, Alaska
and More" In this production, you will experience absolutely stunning scenery,
abundant wildlife, hair-raising danger, a myriad of emotions, successes,
and misses.
 The
action starts out with guide, Sam Fejes, and Gary, pursuing moose and brown
bear in the great Alaskan wilderness. When hunting such remote areas,
your equipment must be top-notch and........well - ON TIME! You guessed
it, Gary's bow apparently took a different route to Alaska than he did.
A friend lent Gary a bow, and after some trials and tribulations, he was
ready to take on an Alaskan giant Brown bear. What happened next
was an absolute rush! The bear that they were stalking didn't like
the company and charged on a dead run! I want to personally commend
the cameraman for staying on the bear as long as he did! Once you
see the footage, you will wonder, as I did, how anybody could possible
withstand such exhilaration and fear and then turn around the very next
morning and risk the same thing all over again! Well, that is exactly what
Gary and the crew did. In the end, Gary harvested an impressive Brown
- with a borrowed bow!
The Alaskan adventure was far from over, as Gary and guide, Doug Powers,
trekked deep into the wild, seeking trophy moose. After a series
of calls, a big moose steps onto the scene and puts on a show. Doug lures
the massive moose into range with some textbook calling and the rest was
up to Gary. Demonstrating great patience, Gary delivers a perfect hit and
takes home a big bull.
The Alaskan wilderness is not only full of beauty, but also holds its
share of dangers and surprises. In my opinion, this video does an
excellent job of portraying the many faces of Alaska. At one point,
Gary and his guide were dropped off by a bush plane for a one-day Black
bear hunt only to remain for 3 ½ days waiting for the weather to
ease up! Another scene shows the wreckage of a bush plane that was brought
down by bad weather.
Next up was Big Sky Country, Montana, and a spot-and-stalk mule deer
quest at the KC Ranch. Again, you will experience breathtaking landscapes
and impressive wildlife footage. The realities of tough hunting are
shown as Gary misses a shot on a nice Muley buck. Not easily deterred,
he sets out again and again until finally, another opportunity presents
itself. This time, a perfect shot from Gary's Hoyt brings down a
mature buck.
The next adventure takes us to the famous King Ranch in South Texas
for a world-class whitetail hunt. Monster bucks seemed to be running
everywhere and it wasn't long until one of them slipped up and trotted
right into bow range. It has always amazed me how well rattling works
in Texas. The footage in South Texas will get any whitetail hunter's
blood pumping!
"Passport to North American III" has some of the highest quality videography
that I have ever seen in a hunting video. Other than the bear charge,
the cameraman was solid as a rock. Quality wise, this video is top-notch.
Another point that came through loud and clear, was Gary's true enthusiasm
for the sport. Bottom line - he loves hunting and works hard to preserve
that heritage for all of us. If you like beautiful scenery and a more complete
hunting experience be sure to pick up a copy of Passport to North America
III.

It is obvious when viewing this production that all of the little details
were attended to. The video leaves no doubt about the level of professionalism
and effort that went into making it. Suggestions for improvement: The only
thing I would change in the format would be to increase the percentage
of actual hunting footage in relation to the rest of the video.
