Bodoodle 'Zapper' Rest

The Zapper, without a doubt, is among the leaders when it
comes to a quality, economical and affordable rest..

Archery can sometimes be best described as a sport of inches.  Whether it be an arrow on a 3-D championship course just cutting the 12 ring or in the field hitting the mark just as it passes a shooting lane I believe your arrow rest is one of the most important archery accessories.  The characteristics of arrow flight are attributed directly to your arrow rest.  No wonder so many professional archers in the World rely on Bodoodle when that moment of truth is present.

Bodoodle believes no matter what your skill, they have a rest that will suit your needs.  If getting the "most bang for your buck" is your option then look no further than the Zapper.  Though affordable this rest doesn't skim on quality.  The body is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, which gives it the light weight of only 2 ounces.  The Zapper will adjust to any arrow sized from the fattest of aluminum to the smallest of carbon because it cradles the arrow with four stainless steel 'Speed Fins'.  This unique cradle action will hold your arrow securely allowing you to shoot even upside down.  I like the action because, rest assured, while stalking through heavy brush your arrow will be there when the shot opportunity presents itself.

The Zapper design also allows for either a right or left-handed shooter.  By inverting a couple parts a right-handed rest easily becomes left-handed.  This ingenious engineering allowed Bodoodle to eliminate special parts, keeping the price low.

The Zapper has to be the easiest arrow rest to mount due to the single hex screw.  The body is designed so the hex screw can be moved along the main body channel allowing a comfortable fit for all shooters.  A locking hex screw provides the added securtiy for a rock solid mount.  Once mounted all adjustments either up or down and left or right are simple, easy and performed from one hex screw.   Calibration marks along the mounting stud enables the shooter to record setup information.

After a fast setup, tests were conducted using three types of arrows.  I wanted to see how the stainless steel 'Speed Fins' would adapt to each.  The first was a 2314 aluminum arrow.  This provided a firm fit, which didn't flex even after a couple arrows were passed through.  This proved the fins were stable and not as prone to bending as I first thought.  I would however recommend some shrink-wrap or felt be attached to the fins to eliminate the metal on metal noise.

Next an aluminum/carbon and pure carbon arrows were tested which are both smaller than the aluminum.  I specifically used a smaller arrow in order to test how well the fins would adapt. I found out the fins responded well and that they can be adjusted easily for any arrow type yet retain their shape and position.

The stainless fins can also be changed easily if a problem ever does occur.  Each is held in place by a hex bolt securely fastened over a lock washer.  Once set this combination allows for a rock solid hold.

The Zapper, without a doubt, is among the leaders when it comes to a quality, economical and affordable rest.  I believe this would be a great rest for someone new to the archery world.  It gives them confidence  knowing that the arrow will not fall off the rest when drawing or canting the bow.

Quality 4 out of 5
The Zapper, although affordably priced, is machined and engineered to show quality.  Smooth edges and well fitting pieces are evident throughout.

Performance 4 out of 5
Although I was a little skeptical of the fins at first they came through with flying colors.  The stainless steel allowed flexibility yet rigidity for any size or make of arrow.
