New Dominion Series Target - TW Design & Manufacturing
by D. R. Rogers

"The New Dominion Series Target the Best Just Got Better!" That's what the packaging says and I'll have to take their word for it since I
haven't seen The Old Dominion Target. As with most products in the hunting industry the target industry is pretty cutthroat and very
competitive. It doesn't seem to be like bows arrows or broadheads where most hunters seem to have their own allegiance and loyalties.

However targets are indeed extremely important to the effective archer and bowhunter. I can't tell you how many dozens of arrows I've lost shooting into hay bales or had broken shooting into wooden boxes filled with some type of packing material. As "The official indoor target of the NFAA" The Dominion already brought credibility to my door when I unpacked it. The target measure 18" wide, 26" tall, and 13" deep. That was something I noticed immediately.

Most sack type targets I've shot weren't designed like that at all. Most were very square and not deep at all, leading one to believe they would eventually fail faster than the Dominion. Given the life expectancy of this type of target I've no facts to base that assumption on though.

TW Design & Manufacturing manufactures a full line of high quality archery targets and accessories, for use at home or on the range.

The New Dominion provided fantastic-stopping power combined with the ease of two-finger arrow removal. From the sub zero to tropical heat, the Dominion is said to be weather resistant, low maintenance, and cost effective. Priced at $38.57, this target is extremely economical compared to all of the other 3-D, Bale-type and other sack targets I have on my range.

The New Dominion features rolled edge stitching on the sides for fantastic durability and metal D-rings on all corners for easy hanging.

I put mine up between two trees and it was rock solid once I secured it. The webbing/D-ring closure system on the top of the bag provides a clean, finished look that allows for fill adjustment and doubles as a handle for ease in carrying the target. The New Dominion was extremely well built and rugged. I've already got over 500 impacts from my PSE Stingray/Gold Tip combination, with no major wear. That's a setup that spits out a projectile at over 275-fps, so you know the New Dominion has to be tough.

The New Dominion Series Target may now be the standard for sack-style targets. The targets are definitely suitable for extreme weather use.

I've had mine outside for over a month now and it's been rained on extremely hard in between the scorching heat of coastal Mississippi. The Dominion has stood the weather and the impacts admirably, earning a place on our range for all to see and enjoy.

Being rectangular, the New Dominion allows a bowhunter to use 4 sides on this target, instead of the normal 2 for most sack-style targets. I would like to see it a little wider than the 18", however when used horizontally it fairly mimics the length and depth of a game animal. This target provides extreme durability, absolute stopping power and two-finger removal. There is no more struggling for dear life to pull your arrows out. Unlike compressed foam 3-D targets, the New Dominion is a joy to use.

Recommendation: The New Dominion is absolutely a fantastic product! I found it to be extremely tough and well built throughout. It's priced right and easy to use. You can even pack it up with you to take on those hunting trips where you'll need a little extra practice time. What more can I say? If you need a target to use in your back yard, garage or anywhere you shoot, The New Dominion will fit the bill!
