ANTLER KING Fall/Winter/Spring Quality Deer Management Feed

by Joe Bartylla

I have used Fall/Winter/Spring from Antler King for 3 years and have had outstanding results.  This is an annual cool season crop that should be planted from August 10th through October 10th.

Fall/Winter/Spring will generally emerge in less than a week after planting, grows rapidly and in a wide variety of conditions.  I have planted it on sandy, acidic, and somewhat infertile soil where the conditions were far from ideal for planting. However, with the help of some lawn fertilizer, I had very good growth. I have also planted it on logging roads that were quite shady. The sun light level increased when the leaves fell and I was able to plant in an otherwise under-utilized location.  Obviously, if you have good agricultural type soil it performs even better. You can find complete planting instructions on Antler King's web site.

By planting the seed in the fall, the deer have highly digestible, fresh new growth that is in excess of 20% protein.  Protein is essential in the whitetails' diet.  This is especially important when one considers that many deer suffer from less than adequate protein levels.  When this happens whitetails do not meet their potential body weight and antler development. Reproductive success decreases and the deer may be more susceptible to perdition and diseases.

I have found Antler King F/W/S is an excellent product
and am consistently impressed with its results

In the fall many plants are near the end of their growth cycle.  These plants can be less digestible for whitetails and often have a lower nutrient level return. Not only does Fall/Winter/Spring solve this problem it also makes a super draw for fall whitetail hunting.  I rarely have to sit long in my stand while watching my food plot without the enjoyment of seeing whitetails feeding in it.  This feeding activity is beneficial to the crop.  As deer graze on my food plot day after day the plants continue to grow, spurring fresh, new growth that is succulent and higher in nutrient values.

Until it is plowed under the following year, Antler King F/W/S
also provides excellent cover for fawning

Fall/Winter/Spring stays green throughout the winter and into spring. This product really helps the bucks gain back weight they have lost after the rigors of the rut.  I have had deer paw through the snow in order to use this food source ever year that I have planted it. In the spring the plants are available for the deer as well.  The rye grass really takes off and provides the deer with the protein and carbohydrates needed in recovering from winter here in the North.

The result of this is an increase in rack sizes since I began planting Fall/Winter/Spring.  If a buck enters spring healthy and with increased body weight, they can shift more of their energies to developing their rack.  A side bonus is that I have found my Fall/Winter/Spring plots to be a favorite bedding area for young fawns.  The tall grass provides them with great cover to protect them from predators.

Antler King products have been improving whitetails Nationwide for 14 years and was developed by a deer nutrionalist.  During this time Antler King seems to get better and develop even more products. For more information on this excellent Antler King product contact antlerking@cuttingedge.net.
