Hey
everybody, hope all is well. What a day! This morning I headed down to
my river stand to look for wild turkeys. When I parked my truck it was
26 degrees. Little bit of a change from the 63 degrees we had last night.
I wasn't in the the double bull blind 10 seconds when I heard some hens
doing their soft tree yelps. They started flying down and in no time they
were all around me.
AWESOME. I had approximately 90 turkeys within 30 yards of my double bull. A big white hen turkey was leading the group in. Gobblers were gobbling and strutting 12 yards in front of me. They definitely made my heart pick up it's rhythm. Picking out a nice Tom I got my HIGH COUNTRY to full draw. The Tom was broadside at eight yards. I aimed in the center of his body and sent the AFC shaft on it's way. The hit was solid and the bird was down in a heartbeat. I was feeling INCREDIBLE!!! Man I love turkey hunting. That was my 14th bird with a bow and the great thing is that I get more excited each time I get one. I have to tell you, that double bull blind is incredible. This was the
first bird I've shot from this type of blind. Anyone that wants to take
a wild turkey with a bow, this blind is a must. All my other birds have
been taken from treestands and from the ground and the double bull makes
it a lot easier from the aspect that the birds can't see you draw and can't
detect any movement. I hope everyone reading this has a great Christmas
and I wish everyone a safe and happy new year. Great hunting to all!!
