| 2002 Elk Bowhunts
Stick & String Outfitters still has a few openings for their September
Colorado archery Elk hunts. SSO books
and guides hunts for the Williams Peak Ranch Co. (Lic. #ORC-1511) in
north central Colorado, near the town of Kremmling (Unit 28).
The area is well known for its quality elk hunting and archery licenses
are either-sex and over-the-counter. Hunting is on national forest
land behind a large private ranch. Access to the general public is
difficult, at best, because the ranch blocks access. The area has
excellent trophy quality and lots of bulls.
Hunters will stay at a large two-story guesthouse situated in a big,
beautiful lower meadow of the ranch. The guesthouse has full amenities
including a full size living room with cable TV, a full kitchen, a redwood
deck, a game room with a full-size pool table, a steam room, and a fishing
pond out the back door with some lunker trout.
SSO has two openings each for the first and second weeks of September.
SSO guides a maximum of two bowhunters per week on thousands of acres of
elk-infested land. Bowhunting is mostly by team calling.
