by Fred Lutger of Freddie Bear Sports A Trick To Help You Hit Where You Aim
If you are grouping consistently, but to the right of your aiming point, move your sight pin slightly to the right and shoot again. This will move the impact point of your arrow to the left. Keep making minor adjustments to your sight pin until your arrows finally group where you aim. Don't shoot at a bulleseye! A better way to fine tune your bowsight is to shoot at a vertical line instead of a bulls eye target -- the edge of a target works well. When you shoot at a vertical line you will be concentrating only on your right-left adjustment. Once you consistently hit the line or have an equal amount of arrows on each side of the line, your windage should be right. Next, shoot at a horizontal line for your elevation adjustments at each yardage you set for your different pins. (Again, the top or bottom of a target works well for this.) The rule is, move your pins in the direction of your arrows impact. This brings the arrow closer to where you are aiming. Make minor adjustments and don't be satisfied with close enough. If you aim there, you want the arrow to hit there. If you do this over several sessions of shooting you'll get your sights right on. Do the horizontal and vertical line shooting throughout the year to keep your sights set perfectly. Good shooting,
