| Brighton, MI (August 18, 2002) Xtreme Scents®, Excelda Manufacturing
and Conely Racing teamed up to run in the Cabela's 250 - NASCAR Busch Series
Race.
Although the weather did not totally cooperate during qualifying on
Friday, August 16th, Brian Ruffner, the driver of the Xtreme Scents car
(#0) was able to turn in a lap time of 39.856 at an astonishing 180.650-mph.
The superior performance of the car allowed us to qualify in the 25th spot
for Cabela's 250 - Busch Series NASCAR Race.
Xtreme Scents®, a
pioneer in scent technology puts the metal to pedal on the NASCAR circuit.
Xtreme Scents® was the primary sponsor along with participating
names like Columbia Sports Wear, North American Whitetail, Gander Mountain,
Jay's Sporting Goods, Away Hunting Products, Outdoor Magazine (by Mike
Avery) and Woods-N-Waters.
With over 100,000 spectators on hand for the race, it was nothing less
than spectacular to see the Xtreme Scents car roar around turn 4 with opposing
teams from Pepsi, Granger, Outdoor Channel and AC Delco, just to name a
few.
All 795 horsepower of the Xtreme Scents car was running perfectly until
lap 71 when it blew a cylinder causing a reduction in horsepower.
After a quick pit stop to analyze the situation, the car quickly returned
to the track where it ended up finishing 29th in a field of 43. This
was a truly a victory for Conley Racing, Excelda Manufacturing and Xtreme
Scents.
Look for the Xtreme Scents car on that track this fall, we plan to run
again at Richmond and Homestead.
