For those who have followed the archery career of Bowhunting.Net Columnist
Susan Lagazo, you know she took up archery as a way of keeping up with
her husband Armen. He got interested in the sport and Susan felt abandoned.
Hitting the web she found Bowhunting.Net and Rich Walton. Many emails later
Rich had convinced Susan that archery was a great, fun sport. One that
could be enjoyed by couples.
So Armen and Susan attacked the sport with a determined vengeance. They've
competed at the local level, then on to the famed Vegas Shoot. They have
both embraced bowhunting and while nether has yet dropped their first deer,
they hunt hard.
Last year Susan captured the New York State Outdoor Tournament and also
took first place in NYSAA (New York State Archery Association) FITA 2 day
Indoor Championship in the Masters Olympic Women's while husband Armen
made it a family affair by taking home 2nd in the Men's division. Both
Lagazos have also qualified for the Empire State games scheduled to begin
July 31. Now what stands as another major accomplishment both Susan and
Armen have won the NYSAA Annual 2 day Outdoor Tournament July 21, 22, to
determine the New York State outdoor champion.
Susan captured the Masters Olympic Women's 1st Place title while husband
Armen went home with the Masters Olympic Men's 1st Place title. Needless
to say they are beaming right along with all of us at Bowhunting .Net who
extend our heartiest congratulations.
