Serious
hunters rely on the advantage that effective camouflage provides especially
during bow and blackpowder seasons where concealment is essential for success.
Knowing effective shooting ranges is also critical, and Bushnell provides
a solution to both with a new Yardage Pro Scout laser rangefinder that
is now available in the new Realtree Hardwoods® camo pattern.
The popular Yardage Pro Scout uses digital technology to accurately
measure distances from 10 to 700 yards. The vertical case design enables
the hunter to operate the Scout with one hand. This compact rangefinder
measures a mere 1.5"x4"x 2.75 ", weighs 6.8 oz. and slips easily in a shirt
pocket or day pack.
With the new Realtree Hardwood camo pattern, bowhunters, blackpowder
hunters and riflemen can confidently use the Scout at close range without
spooking game or compromising their concealment. The new Realtree Hardwoods
pattern uses a new High Definition process that utilizes the latest improvements
in digital capture and computer images. Overall image, reproduction quality
and color depth are greatly improved. The result is a crisper image that's
more realistic and effective.
The Yardage Pro Scout is easy to use. While scanning through the 6x
adjustable eyepiece, the hunter places the reticle on the target, depresses
the fire button located on the top of the Scout and instantly reads the
distance, in yards or meters, illuminated by an LED. Accuracy is an incredible
+/- one yard.
The Yardage Pro Scout emits invisible, eye-safe, Class I laser energy
pulses that are reflected off a selected target back to its receiving optics.
When the fire button is depressed, digital circuitry and a high-speed clock
instantaneously calculate distances by measuring the time required for
each pulse to travel from the Scout to the target and return. The
vertical alignment of the optics and the molded finger grips make it easy
to hold the Scout on target and determine the distance while ranging longer
distances.
The Scout features Scan and Zip modes. In the Scan mode, the hunter
presses the fire button and receives continuously updated distance readouts
as the rangefinder scans an area. If an animal is behind an obstruction,
the hunter can quickly range on a nearby tree or rock without releasing
the fire button. Moving targets can also be tracked using this mode. In
the Zip mode, the Scout will disregard any feedback from secondary targets
- tree limbs or brush - in essence eliminating measurement to targets less
than 150 yards away, providing an accurate read-out for the primary target.
The rugged, water-resistant Scout will perform under the most severe
weather conditions. The 3-volt lithium battery included with the Scout
will deliver over 2,000 readings. An automatic, battery-saving feature
shuts the unit off after 30 seconds of non-use. For quick access,
a neck strap and carrying case with clip and belt loop are included with
the Scout.
The Yardage Pro Scout, (#20-3000), will be available in August 2001
at Bushnell dealers nationwide. Suggested retail price is $299.99. |
