Edgefield, S.C. - Edgefield, S.C., may not be the capital of television broadcasting, but it is where the National Wild Turkey Federation builds its award winning television show, Turkey Call.

Turkey Call, which airs on The Nashville Network (TNN) at 10:30 on Saturday mornings, recently received an Award of Merit for Best Editing from the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA).  Two Turkey Call segments also tied for Third Place in the Recreation/Promotion Category.

"With this being Turkey Call¹s second year on the air, we are very proud to receive these awards, " said Rob Keck, NWTF CEO. Show Three, which received the Award of Merit for Best Editing and tied for the third place slot, showcases the beautiful states of California and Michigan with two exciting hunts featuring Steve Wilson of the Arkansas Game and Fish Department and former Battle Creek, Mich., mayor Al Bobrofsky.  Decoying tips for mature wild turkey toms and shooting tips round out this exciting and educational show.

Show Four highlights Wyoming¹s Black Hills and an awesome father and son hunt in Texas. Viewers will also learn how to outfit themselves for their next turkey hunt.

OWAA has sponsored these awards for more than 40 years and consists of professional writers, editors, lecturers, photographers, artists, filmmakers, and radio and television broadcasters who communicate the outdoor experience. Members adhere to codes of professional and ethical conduct to provide complete and unbiased outdoor coverage.
