Shoot? Pass? or Wait?
Rinngggg! The alarm wakes you and you get ready for your morning hunt. One of your buddies arrives late and when he drops you off near your stand you can already see a faint band of light on the distant horizon -- even though it is over an hour before sunrise. You pull your bow up and as you nock an arrow you hear a deer's footsteps coming toward you. You see it's shadowy movement in the low light as it gets closer. Below you, the ground is still dark and you just can't make it out clearly. But when it is 10 yards away the deer turns just right and catches the faint light just enough to illuminate it. Antlers, it's a buck!!! Do you Shoot? Pass? or Wait? Industry Profile: Frank Pearson My first interview in Tucson was with Frank Pearson. Frank is a renowned archery coach and archery teacher. During the interview Frank offered many insights that are useful to bowhunters as well as some archery tips. EZ Tuning for Finger Shooters by Art Champoux - Art has tried several ways to tune for fingers, and he found this to be the easiest. BOW REPORT - DARTON Maverick Express 2000, by Jon E. Silks - This year Darton Archery celebrates its 50th anniversary and is doing so in grand style. (Wild Hog Hunting In Progress) Wild Hog Bowhunting at the Island. GO More Scouting: I check out the crossing at Big River. Since I heard so many hog squeals, squalls and grunts when I hunted the evening before I drove in their direction to check it out. It is a familiar area to me but I did not expect to find what I saw there!!! Surprise At Big River... Find The Deer #7
Your afternoon hunt has been eventless. You blame the gusty winds for keeping the deer down. You watch as the sun balances a little above the horizon. It's one of those days when you feel like you're just not going to see any deer. You hear a squirrel rustle the leaves behind you. You sneak one quick look, just to be sure. Woops, that was no squirrel. Can you find the deer? (640x480) or (800x600) In case you missed Find The Deer #1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, here is the Find The Deer Home Page. I Found 'Em!!!
Visibility was awful as I drove slowly along through the high Sudan. It was almost like driving in a tunnel. Finally, I turned toward a wooded area we call the Island. When I got to it, right away, I saw two wild hogs. And quickly found a lot more. At last, I found where the wild hogs went when they left the Hamer Hole. Last But Not Least by Kevin Kischel Getting ready to hunt the right way. Kevin shares his methods to be sure he has everything he needs come hunting season. Don't
Worry, This is not Godzilla!! But he is still a plenty mean dude. He
kills and eats rattlesnakes, copperheads and big rats for a living. He
can run like the wind and if he wants to he can fly. Every body that's
out of state thinks they are really something. So I have been trying to
take a good picture of one for over a year and let everyone who wants to
see one, see one. And as you can see I pulled it off today, and got real
close too. The
