Brian Pullam the Nose Knows

I have to try something for myself to believe it. So if you are like me I know you can relate. Well, recently I took the liberty of trying something new.

I am pretty sure everyone knows about the deer's nose. Deer have a sense of smell so acute we can't even comprehend it. Well now a days there is always something new coming out on the market to make hunting a little easier. In this case the so called scent eliminators.

If you are not familiar with scent elimination let me explain it for you. Now they have products out that neutralize human odor. So when you go into the field deer can't smell you, or so they claim. This certainly is a good idea and all, but does it work????

There is some stuff on the market called Scent Shield. This stuff says it will eliminate human odor and make you virtually undetectable from deer. So me being the testy type I purchased some of the scent shield products so I could test them myself.

I couldn't just walk up to a deer and ask him if he could smell me. (That would be to easy). So being a clever kind of guy I went in my dads medicine chest and got out some of the most stinkin', smelly cologne I could find. I took out a used white T-shirt and laid the cologne to it. My mom then caught whiff of my experiment and made me take the project outside.

Once outside with this smelly cologne I took out some scent Shield scent odor eliminator and gave the shirt a few squirts.

I brought the shirt back in and told my mom to give it a whiff. To my mother's and my own surprise the cologne smell was gone! The shirt had no smell. So I got out the Fall Blend cover up scent. I then took another shirt outside doused it in cologne and sprayed the fall blend cover up spray on it. I brought it back in and the cologne smell faint but still noticeable. So again I took another shirt, more cologne, and did the same as before. I then sprayed it with the scent eliminator and the fall blend cover up scent. This shirt smelled just like the woods. It wasn't a fake strong pine kinda smell either, no, my shirt smelled just like the woods.

Then I gave it another test. My old, grungy tennis shoes. Boy they smelled bad. I pulled out the foot pad and gave them and the shoes the once over with the spray. Afterward there was absolutely no scent on my shoes.! I was truly impressed by the results of these two tests.

These 2 products are made by Robinson Labs Inc. and don't cost that much. They come in several size spray bottles, and since I've been spraying everything in sight for the last two weeks and still have some left, a bottle lasts a long time. I would recommend this line of products to anyone. I mean if it took away the cologne smell and the foot odor, so I think that when you hunt, normal human odor will not be a problem if you use this spray.

Good luck in the field,
