I have been bowhunting for twenty-two years, eighteen if you don't count the four years it took me to harvest my first deer. Since that first morning I felt that I was into something very special and that feeling has never left me. What other sport allows you to get up two hours before the sun, go stumbling through the woods only to climb a tree and wait for it to get light. People think I'm crazy, especially my sweet wife, but I don't think I would change a thing.

After making all the mistakes it was possible to make I started to have a little success. Over the years I have taken a moose, a couple of caribou, several black bears, but my real passion is the wily white-tailed buck. Even a fawn coming under my tree stand can still get the old heart pounding. My real trophies are not just the ones that grace the walls of my basement, but the little things. Like the sawhet owl I watched picking off moths a few feet below my tree stand or the lynx that was hunting mice along a blown down tree. These and countless other memories is what makes bowhunting so special to me.

Some of the organizations I belong to.

Here's my story of The Three Little Bears.
