Mountain Lion Hunt Excitement

Ever been face to face with a huge deer-killing machine? If you've never tried lion hunting, you haven't experienced the meaning of excitement! Nothing in the outdoors compares to the superior disdain in the eyes of a cougar as his gaze catches yours.

Every outdoorsman should meet that look, and we are the best at providing you with that opportunity. Our mountain lion hunts are with hound dogs, which is the most productive and exciting way to hunt these animals. Once a lion track is cut, the hounds are turned out and the race is on. You're in for the thrill of a lifetime when you hear the hounds open up and start gaining ground on the big cat. Once they jump the lion, you'll hear the excitement in the hounds as they put the pressure on until the cat trees.

You'll need to be in top condition with a cool head because things usually get very exciting at the tree. Since most hunters have never been 10 feet from an angry lion, your adrenaline will be pumping like never before, so making a good shot can test the best shooter's abilities.

The Lion Hunt

Our quality Utah mountain lion outfitter is offering a special unbelievably low-priced mountain lion hunt of $2000 if booked before December 31, 2005.  The price will increase to $3000 on Jan. 1.  Most mountain lion hunts sell for around $3500.  The $2000 price will be valid for any hunt booked before Dec. 31 and the hunt can occur in late 2005, early 2006, late 2006 or even early 2007.  This hunt is a 7-day fully guided lion hunt.  Everything (including home cooked meals) is included except for the motel (~$40/night) and license (~$258).  And don't let the low price make you think the hunt isn't a quality hunt.  It is and the outfitter is one of the best lion outfitters in Utah.

Hunting Area and Method

Our outfitter hunts a huge area of National Forest and BLM land in southern Utah.  He has 3-4 different well-trained packs of dogs consisting of approx. 30 animals so you don't need to worry about some of the dogs getting tired and not being able to hunt.  The dogs and desert conditions allow dry land hunting in addition to tracking on snow.  Dry land hunting is a big advantage because you don't have to rely on good snow conditions like most lion outfitters.  The outfitter also has several guides working for him who will drive the roads separately and then contact the outfitter via radio when a track is found.  You won't find a harder working outfitter than this one.

Licenses and Season

Mountain lion licenses can be obtained over the counter for $258 (nonresident).  The season goes from approx. Nov. 1 to June 1.  Some of the hunts are already booked so contact us for open dates.

Success Rates and Trophy Quality

Last year our outfitter was 100% successful with 80% of the animals taken being large toms.  Our outfitter tries not to shoot females unless a hunter insists on it.  The toms averaged 150-160 lb. which is a very high average and one of the toms was 180 lb.  Most all toms taken exceed the Pope & Young minimum.  Any weapon can be used.

Closing

The hunt is so good and the price so low, a buddy and I are planning on booking our own hunts this winter.  Don't miss out on this opportunity.  With the pressure from the antihunters, we will not be able to hound hunt lions forever.  Now is your chance to harvest a lion at an incredible price.

This hunt will be arranged through Huntn & Fishn Biz.  To learn more about the business and see all the other hunts and fishing trips offered, please check out my new website at www.huntn.biz/4963 and click on Hunts and Fishing Charters.
