the Bailey Birthday Buck

The birthday hunt for Frankie Bailey on December 16, 2005 in Central North Carolina started out with three requirements given by me; 1) be sure to take a trophy buck early, 2) make sure the animal was close, 3) use the Hot Trails Dominant Buck Candle.

The wind was blowing behind Frankie down into a thicket where signs of the buck had been seen.  The buck had only shown himself at night on trail cameras for over two years.

Around 4:45 p.m., a large deer was spotted in the thicket working his way toward the Hot Trail's Dominant Buck Candle.

The deer was rubbing trees, breaking branches, snorting, grunting, and stomping his feet.  His head was so high in the air the antlers were hard to make out due to the thickness of the brush.  The deer rapidly approached to within 15 yards of the candle.  The buck was taken there 30 minutes before dark.

What a wonderful birthday present for Frankie.

And Thanks to Hot Trails for a wonderful product.

Regards,
