Steve Byers started bowhunting early, for mule deer and elk in western Colorado thanks to a father who wanted to pass on the hunting heritage.. He took his first deer at 12 and since has taken numerous P&Y mule deer and elk in the past 20 years.

Steve's column “Western Bowhunting”, will be discussing hunting of species of all kinds from bugling bulls to tuning equipment and everything in between. In the past few years Steves been bitten by the Whitetail “bug”, and really enjoys calling and rattling for them.

A machinist by trade, Steve lives iin Olathe, CO with his wife Cassie, also an accomplished bowhunter and their three children, Maddie, Easton and Beau. Steve is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Colorado Bowhunters Association. He also guides bowhunters and over the past 10
years has called in over 250 bulls.
