Introduction
We have a world-class black bear outfitter in northern Alberta
who has some cancellation bear hunts for this Spring. The price for a 6-day
hunt is normally $4000 but he has reduced his price to $3300. The limit is two
bears and there is no extra charge for the second bear. The trophy quality is
unsurpassed with a good percentage (30%) of color phase bears.
Two hunts are offered - a tent camp hunt for those hunters who
don't mind roughing it and a lodge hunt. The two hunts are in different
areas.

Monster Black Bears
Mature
bears will average 6 to 6 1/2 foot nose to tail, weighing 250- 300 lbs. We have
taken many giants over 7 foot, 400lbs + with record skulls.
The hunts are six days in length, conducting from early May
through mid June. Bears emerge from their dens around mid April, well furred and
in search of food - weeks before the first hunt.
Our hunters have maintained a success rate of 150% over many
years. With Alberta's two bear limit, a number of our hunters choose to bring
both rifle and bow.
Our long time reputation and repeat clientele will attest to
the quality of our hunts and their trophies will speak for themselves.
Color phases from Blonde to Cinnamon and Chocolate make for some
beautiful well furred spring hides. Our area holds the highest density of color
phase bears anywhere in North America, with our clients harvesting 30% or more
annually.
Hunt Area
Our outfitter has two separate hunting areas. One tent camp hunt near Ft.
McMurray and a lodge hunt north of Edmonton.
Tent Camp Hunt
Our area encompasses some 4500 square miles of boreal forest
littered with lakes, rivers, swamps and rolling hills-ideal bear habitat. Access
to most of this area is only possible with the use of ATV 4 wheelers, making
this virtually exclusive to our hunters.
We are located in North Eastern Alberta. Your commercial flight
destination is Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. You will need to arrive one day
before the date of your hunt, and depart the day after. Fort McMurray is easily
accessed by commercial airline.
Lodge Hunt
The lodge hunt is in a brand new area north of Edmonton. The area has
never been commercially hunted before and our outfitter expects some monster
bears to be taken. The hunting area encompasses approximately 2400 square
miles.
A total of only 12 hunters will be guided in this area (4 per week) this
year.
Edminton is easily accessed by commercial
airline.
Camps
There are two camps to choose from - a tent camp near Ft. McMurray and a
lodge north of Edmonton.
Tent Camp
Our main tent camp is a comfortable , well equipped wall tent
camp.The relaxing atmosphere, our accommodating staff and the delicious home
cooked meals are something you can look forward to.
Due to bear activity and long daylight hours at this time of
year, most hunting is done from late afternoon until dark. This leaves plenty of
time for enjoying camp or fishing for Northern Pike, as we have a small lake
available a short distance from camp.
Lodge
If you decide to hunt north of Edmonton, you will stay at a nice
lodge.
Hunt
Price and Open Dates
The regular hunt price is $4000 but due to some
cancellations, our outfitter has discounted the hunts for this year only to
$3300.
The hunt is 6 days and includes 2 bears.
Licenses and taxes run about $400 for 2 bear tags.
The hunt price includes free airport pickup.
