2007 Bow Review: Elite Archery The Synergy

RISER AND GRIP:

This year the folks at Elite Archery have combined two bows into one to come up with the Synergy. As with most risers on the market today the Synergy is machined aluminum, which reduces the overall weight of the bow.  The thin-necked grip is made from wood and feels comfortable in your hand. The camouflage pattern is remarkable with zero flaws in it.

LIMBS AND CAMS:

The Synergy is a parallel limb bow with Barnsdale five layer laminated limbs.  The Synergy is outfitted with the new K8 cams with a rotatable draw length module.  The Cams allow you to change the let-off easily allowing for faster arrow speeds and higher kinetic energy.

TESTING:

GRIP TEST:

I drew the synergy 10 times and while changing the grip every time.  The results I was looking for were if there was any torque on the bowstring or cams. The synergy's thin-necked grip did not allow for many different positions. Every time it would guide my hand back to the correct position. There was a little bit of torque of the bow with each change of grip, but like I said earlier, the grip corrected your hand   placement.

DRAW TEST 70lbs:

First I ensured that the poundage was set correctly by using my Apple Bow Tuning/Drawing Tool. Then, I drew the bow 10 times.  Being a speed bow the initial draw cycle of the Synergy was tight, but once you went through the valley the let-off took over. With the draw stops in place, the bow hit a solid back wall at 29".  Overall the draw was comfortable and complete.

SPEED/NOISE TEST:

For testing the speed I shot through my Chronograph from Competition electronics 10 times. The average speed of all ten shots using the same 365-grain arrow was 317fps. The bow did not jump forward at all, but rather turned in my hand each time I released the arrow.  The overall noise was not bad in the bow thanks to the BOW JAX's that are installed, but there was no string silencing dampeners installed. This caused the ever-famous twang upon release. This would be an easy fix by installing some and drastically reduce the sound and vibration even more.

CONCLUSION:

Elite archery is pretty new in the bow industry. With that being said, I feel that they have made a great product here. By looking at the Synergy you can see the pride and detail that they have taken to ensure that only the best bows leave their warehouse.  The synergy has speed and power behind its limbs is not only make it a great hunting bow, but an outstanding 3-D bow as well.  After shooting it for the review, I installed silencers on the strings and put a stabilizer on there from SIMS. This bow was whisper quiet and shot like a champ!
