Bow Review 2007 - Darton Archery - Pro 3000

PRO 3000

RISER AND GRIP:

The Pro 3000 has the new Darton AXIS Riser that is fully Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum that is camouflaged with Realtree Hardwoods HD Green. The riser has numerous cutouts to reduce the overall weight of the bow and gives it a sleek look. The Vibragrip reduces unwanted shock while providing a slip free grip.

LIMBS AND CAMS:

Darton has given the PRO 3000 the new Eflex Pre-loaded energy limbs that work in concert with the CPS Hybrid Cam System. This results in more durability and energy delivery. Quieter, smoother, and faster that any other cam system available the first of it's kind; a true, 2 ˝ cam system that combines speed and performance of dual-cam bows with the simplicity, accuracy, and shootability of Darton's CPS Hybrid Cam technology. The CPS Hybrid Cam system is. The limbs are locked into position with Darton's Limblock, limb bolt locking system. The system allows the limb bolts to be locked down, securing them at their pivot points.

TESTING:

Grip Test:

I drew the Pro 3000 10 times trying to change my grip every time.  The grip was not only comfortable, but conforms to your hand.  When I changed the hold of my grip, the bow would not torque.  The Vibragrip is a fat grip and really feels very comfortable in your hand.

Draw test:

Next, I wanted to test the draw of the bow at 70 lbs.  I ensured that the pounds were set correctly on my Apple Bow Tuning/Drawing Tool. Then, I drew the bow 10 times with my eyes closed.  The 2 ˝ Cam was very smooth throughout the draw with a solid back wall. The one thing I noticed was there was no jerking through the valley. The Pro 3000 draw is very controlled and smooth throughout.

Speed Test:

For testing the speed I shot through my Chronograph from Competition electronics 10 times. The average speed of all ten shots was 302 fps. There was no kick from the bow or vibration that could be felt. The Pro 3000 is outfitted with string leaches and limb shock absorbers, which make the bow very quiet. I believe and another advantage is the Vibragrip have shock absorbing ability too.

CONCLUSION:

Once again another great bow in the 2007 bow review. The Pro 3000 is one of the top ranking bows out there for 2007. The bow is very easy to shoot, has great speed, and is very forgiving. The technology that has gone into making today's bows is incredible. If anyone has thought that Darton is not in the game anymore, they are wrong. Darton has been around for a long time and will continue to be. Like Darton states, "The Prophecy Continues…..
