The Elk Hunter Series Volume: I "Planning for success"
If you have read my reviews before or followed my online hunts, you will know that I am a huge Elk Fanatic. Every year I go out and buy that DVD that the Primos boys put out and watch them chirp, mew, and bugle in monster bulls. Unfortunately, hunting elk is not like this all the time. Sure a hunter can get lucky and maybe come across a fired up bull, but if he does not know what he is doing; more times than not, he will go home empty handed.
I have a long time friend by the name of Jay Houston who is a renowned Author, national conference speaker, and Authority on elk hunting. He has written three books on the sport and just recently completed this video. Jay is the Webmaster of a website were hunters can find out anything they could ever want to find out about elk and elk hunting.
This year Jodi and I are heading up to a new area for our annual elk hunt and with little time to scout, I figured I would contact Jay and see what he thought of the area. We began to talk about his new video and I asked him if I could see it and share it with everyone on www.bowhunting.net . He agreed and a couple of days later I received the DVD.
This is not your normal elk hunting DVD where everyone is getting shots at trophy-sized elk. God knows I love those videos as much as everyone else. The elk hunter series is a true instructional DVD developed to teach hunters of all levels how to become more successful elk hunters. Volume one of the series.

I can tell you that I learned a bunch of stuff that I thought I had overlooked during the last couple of years on my elk hunting trips. I know that this year I am going to be better prepared than I was in the past, and that is thanks to Jay and his hunting video series. If you are planning a trip to the high country chasing the elusive wapiti, you should get this DVD to help you prepare too. I would also recommend Jay's books Elk Hunting 101, Elk hunting 201, and Elk hunting 301. Let Jay's experience help you in becoming a successful elk hunter and not be one of the thousands of people that come home empty handed.
