RISER AND GRIP:
The riser on the X-Force is Machined Aluminum that has aggressive limb pocket angles. The X-Force has a new grip called the B.E.S.T. It stands for Biomechanically Ergonomic Slim Throat. The grip gives you a more natural feel when you are holding the bow, because it is contoured to fit your hand better. The limb pockets on the X-force machined aluminum. The Hypersplit limb pocket creates a secure limb mounting system for our compact split limbs combined with simplified bow weight adjustment. There are also eight independent vibration dampening devises that come standard on the X-force.
LIMBS AND CAMS:
Going beyond the new technology that is out, PSE has outfitted the X-Force with 12 inch limbs that are manufactured using CNC abrasive machining technologies. These limbs have more bend than any other in the industry. the X-Force's cam in known as the HF (Hybrid Fast) Cam. It features an oversized design and aggressive draw force curve for maximum energy storage, with let-off ranging from 60% to 70%. Also, you do not have to have a bow press to adjust the draw length on the X-Force.
Testing:
First I ensured that the draw length was 29", and poundage set at 70lbs on my Apple Bow drawing tool. Once that was done, I started the grip test. I drew the X-Force10 times and changed my grip each time. This way, I was not utilizing my own grip in the testing. The results I was looking for were if there was any torque on the bowstring or cams. As mentioned before, the X-force has a slim grip that is ergonomically made for the human hand. This proved to be a great value for there was zero torque on the bow during each draw.
The next test that I did was the draw test. All I can say is power. When drawing the X-force you know that there is serious energy stored in the limbs and throughout the whole bow. There is no noticeable valley during the draw. The bow just stops, leaving you holding 40% to 30% of the weight. One thing I did notice is once you are at full draw; you cannot relax your grip. If you do; the cam's will take over and try to start the forward motion of the string. This is where you need to have perfect form each time you shoot.
For testing the speed I shot through my Chronograph from Competition electronics 10 times. The average speed of all ten shots was 341 fps. That is right, 341. This has to be the fastest bow I have ever shot in my life. There was absolute zero hand shock and the bow made hardly any noise. This bow only has a 6" brace height, but was very forgiving while shooting.
Conclusion:
Shooting the X-Force was a pleasure. Like I had stated before, I have never shot a bow that fast in my life. I shot at 30 yards with it just to watch the arrow flight. The bow was so fast I almost did not see the arrow. The only thing that I did not like was the low let-off. Call me spoiled by the 80% that most bows have these days, but with speed comes some sacrifices. If speed is your game, then the X-force is for you. This bow will provide long range shooting with minimum gap between sight pins and don't worry about not having enough penetration. This bow delivers and impressive 93 pounds of Kinetic energy.
