NEWFOUNDLAND’S
TOP PRODUCING CARIBOU CAMP TO REMAIN “BOWHUNTING ONLY”
Since 2000, when it reopened after nine years of no hunting
what so ever, the camp at Dolland Pond has been run as a “bowhunting only” camp
primarily for woodland caribou.The
success on trophy class animals by the bowhunting clients has been outstanding,
but the current management lost the lease after the ’05 season and it appeared
the new management was going to start running rifle hunts from the camp.
Fast forward six months:The proposed new management team decided not to follow through with the
planned lease takeover, leaving the Camp with no management going forward. The owners offered the camp to Roy Goodwin’s Tag-A-Long Consultants on a long term
lease basis, and Roy
decided to take it over and keep it Bowhunting only for the future. For all the details check out the new Dolland
Pond section of the Tag-A-Long Consultants web site.
For those that might be interested in adding a trophy
woodland caribou to their collection, there are still two openings remaining
for the ’06 season.The ’07 season is
already starting to book up, for Woodland caribou, Canadian moose, and black
bears.Openings are extremely limited to
maintain the overall quality on all three species so early booking is highly
recommended.
