Asprin Buster Busts 3 with 3 Arrows 1 Shot!
By Frank Addington Jr.
Feb 26, 2007 - 11:08:00 AM

Frank Addington stood off stage at the Indiana Deer & Turkey EXPO as the bowhunting great Chuck Adams reached for the microphone.

Legendary Bowhunter Chuck Adams Introduces Frank

"I hope you guys enjoy this because you're looking at the best trick shot in North America in my opinion.  And he does it shooting behind his back with his bow not the normal way.  Which makes it about a hundred times harder than what anybody else on this continent does in trick shooting exhibitions.  Please join me in welcoming Frank Addington...."

First of all, it was great having my good friend Chuck Adams say kind words like those remarks while introducing my archery exhibitions this past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana.  However it also adds a little pressure to perform as well.   Adams is only one of the world's best known and most successful bowhunters.

Chuck and I were both featured entertainment at the Renfro's Indiana Deer & Turkey EXPO February 16-18, 2007.  The event is held at the Indiana state fairgrounds.   The show was packed and had great crowds all weekend.  This was the show's 54th year and the Renfro's run a first class event.  This was my second time there and Chuck's first.  He volunteered to introduce me at four of my shows that weekend.

Chuck Adams and Frank Addington, Jr. Friends since the 1980's

Steve Gornell with Renfro Productions manages the Deer & Turkey Expo and he was my assistant for Saturday and Sunday.   He did a super job.  We started out with a bang--- Saturday morning on Steve's first show tossing targets for me I hit the baby aspirin from mid air behind my back the very first shot!  The second show I split the pill into two pieces the 4th shot!   Two great shows in front of big crowds.

Saturday evening's show was the one to see!  I hit the baby aspirin and then rather than closing the show like I always do I told Steve and the audience I was "Feeling froggy."  So I told Steve to cup his hand and place THREE baby aspirin in it.  I then carefully loaded three arrows into my bow.  I had never attempted or even practiced this feat prior.  I just decided on a whim to spice it up a little Saturday night.

Frank at the ready. Bow behind his back, three arrows ready to shoot at three Baby Asprins about to be thrown in to the air!

I had Steve toss one practice throw so that I could see the pattern of the pills.  I then put the bow behind my back, got in position and nodded to Steve to toss the pills.  As his hand tossed the three tiny orange tablets into mid air I drew the bow, waited till the pills peaked and released my string.  Time seemed to stand still as the arrows zipped through the air and collided with the baby aspirin tablets sending them flying off course!!!  We did it---first shot the first time I ever attempted it!

Three baby aspirin.  Three arrows.  First Shot.  Wow.   This shot was in honor of my friend of the late Rev. Stacy Groscup.   He was the very best exhibition to ever draw a string.   I know Stacy would have loved that shot!   I'd like to thank God for my eyesight and shooting ability, a very understanding and loving wife, Gus our new son, and the rest of my family, the Renfro family, Steve, and Chuck Adams for the great introductions.   All of the above names make my job easy--- I just show up and shoot my bow.

By the way, Chuck has two great books out--- his bio, "Life at Fulldraw" and "Super Slam."  Want to order a copy of one of these great books?  You can call 1-800-916-2575.  If you'd like to order a signed personalized copy you can tell the operator.  The books run $25.00 per book or you can order the pair for $45.00.   Want a leather bound, signed and numbered limited edition of either book?  These collector's editions run $49.95 per book.

Chuck and I will both be at the Renfro's Sports, Vacation and Boat Show coming up in Fort Wayne, Indiana March 12, 16, 17 & 18th!   Seeing is believing-- see you at the show!

CHECK BACK--- WE HOPE TO HAVE VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE THREE BABY ASPIRIN/THREE ARROW SHOT SOON!
