Kids at Texins Archery Club
August 4th Hunter Rummage Sale & Club Fundraiser

The fundraiser hours are from 9:00 to 4:00 on Saturday August 4, 2007 with:

  • A silent auction (Basically a garage sale for outdoorsmen.)  from 9:00 to 2:00 offering:
    • a wide variety of items from a canoe, deer stands, services from companies and more.
    • archery and bowhunting equipment donated by manufacturers.
  •  Local vendors will be on hand with tables offering items for sale at a disount.
  • Hotdogs, chips and drinks for sale as well as some traditional and competitive archery demonstrations throughout the day.
Recently the Texins Archery Club storage building was burglarized. David Russell told me, "Unfortunately they cleaned us out, took every bow, arrow, stick and tool we had. Bottom line here is Texins Archery Club has to replace the club's stolen JOAD and Intro To Archery equipment, as well as to improve security for what is purchased."

"Got gear you no longer use cluttering your closets? Donate it to the Texins Archery Club auction sale on August 4th. These items will be combined with vendor donations from Bass Pro, Academy, Truglo, Sportsman's Warehouse, Sports Authority, etc. Come out and shop for that needed gadget you are missing. All incredible values. Everything from hunting stands to camo pants! The event will start at 9am and continue until 4pm. at the range. Open to the public. Please talk it up among members and hunting buddies. Maybe there are some little hunters out there that need to get outfitted for next season" ... Clint Montgomery

If you have any additional questions or for:

  • further information,
  • to donate items for the auction,
  • or to exhibit,
  • contact David Russell at dgr3723@yahoo.com.
Texins Archery Club is a Non profit organization
"The goal is to not only replace the stolen equipment but also to enhance it by adding some compounds along with the other necessary items, finger tabs, arm guards, quivers etc. Funds to be used for replacing archery equipment used in our weekly JOAD (junior olympic archery development), Intro to Archery Classes, enhanced security and a new steel cargo container for storage. We have a commitment to introducing the young and the old to the great age long hobby of archery. Any remaining amount will be used to continue enhancing the club and the range, new 3-d targets for example to enhance our ability to host 3-D tournements." Texins Archery Club is on the web at DallasArchery.com .

"For serious archers we offer on site coaching by 2nd and 3rd level instructors, some of which coach on a national level."

JOAD
This instruction program is designed as a regular supervised class for all school aged children, and beginner adults. Texins Archery Club has twenty certified instructors who review form and safety in an effort to build confidence, proficiency, and consistency. Sessions are scheduled for ages 6 - 11, and ages 12 and up. All equipment is supplied by our club but they may bring their own too. Parents must remain at the range during the sessions for anyone under the age of sixteen, and may find it fun to also participate. Non-members pay $10, and club members pay $5, per session. Normally JOAD takes place on every Sunday except Holidays - from 2:00-4:00pm (see calendar).

Group functions
This equipment is also used for birthday parties, cub, boy and girl scout groups working towards various badges as well as some archery in the school programs currently under development.

Intro to archery
Learning to shoot the bow and arrow.
Funds will be used to replace equipment for the Intro To Archery Classes. The perfect way to experience archery. All equipment is provided by our club. Demonstrates different styles of shooting and illustrates ways of enjoying archery. The instructor then supervises attendees in shooting the bow! They are guided through the fun of picking up a bow for the first time (or in a long time), and leave with the confidence of having a well rounded introduction, and the resources to explore the sport of archery further. Instruction features INSTINCTIVE style of shooting using "swing-draw" method. Participants are quickly be able to "hit what you can see!" Held each Wednesday 6-7pm (except holidays). Open to the general public $10 per shooter, members $5. Club requires that parents remain at the range during seminar for children under the age of sixteen.
