Third Hunt

We waited until daylight and drove the ranch's Gator to the hill where we lost track of the hog that Rick had shot on yesterday's hunt. Buffalo had moved into the area and looking at how high the broom weeds and other growth was on them made for a bad feeling. The hog was laying down some place in this area and it might be very difficult to find it. 

We walked for a good while with no luck. Then we used the Gator to go back and forth in a 250 yard wide section. Our back and forth search led us to the top of the hill where there were a few more buffalo. All the while lone buzzard circled above us in the sky. It was looking too. 

We could not find the hog. The ground cover was just too dense. To see it we had to be inches from it or else step on it or bump into it with the Gator. We tried hard to make it happen but it didn't. We finally stopped searching at 11:00 and returned to the lodge. 

Then we drove to Rick's hunting property and did some work. Afterward we returned to Sweetwater Creek Ranch and went hog hunting again.

This afternoon we saw about 30 hogs but they were out of range.
