Ok, so that was pretty much a no brainer. Obviously you wait. The shot angle was bad, there was no shot at the wild hog's vitals. And did I mention that there are lots of other pigs around that might get hit too.
The wild hogs are cautious and several minutes pass as they check out the wind and observe the clearing. Then they spread out. Then the pigs relax and get busy rooting, it is very noisy. One of them comes within easy shooting range.
