SEPTEMBER 8 - First Scrape Activity With their velvet shed, these two bucks, a 6 and an 8, are obviously thinking about the rut. I saw the 6-point first. It was ok light but still early so I adjusted my camera for it and took some pictures. Another deer caught my eye and I looked. A handsome 8-point was walking along the edge of my freshly plowed food plot, in the direction of the six, which I then realized was pawing the ground. The 8 went to the scrape and I got two pictures of it pawing the scrape. Then he looked around, giving me the opportunity for a few more pics, and walked away in the direction the 6 had gone. Enjoy...
