Scouting For Deer 2001

Scouting: The Last 2 Days
before season - Bucks are now marking (September 27)
(7:35am) There was a major
change in the deer activity this morning. A handful of does went to the
food plot as the darkness began to get lighter. But the bucks were not
interested, they were marking limbs and making rubs. At daylight an 8-point
that I haven't seen before, at least without velvet, worked the edge of
the woods, raking several low limbs and bushes with it's antlers. I took
some pics but there wasn't enough light for the camera to pick up enough
detail. Several minutes later, and with slightly better lighting conditions,
the 10-point walked up from the gully and began raking limbs and bushes.
Here is a pic of him hard at it. (The tail you see in the lower right is
the 8-point and it is marking limbs also.) NEXT.
