Project Food Plot 2004 -- by Robert Hoague
Food Plot Home Page | Plans & Planting | First Growth & Photos | Photos & October Progress | November & December | December's Food Plot "LIve" Hunt | Photos and November - December Progress November - Deer are seen daily in
the food plot. The crop is up good. A combination of Prairie Brome Grass,
forage rape, forage clovers, chicory are a smorgasbord of deer goodies.
Morning frosts and freezing temperatures quickly turned the surrounding
area into Fall's tans and browns, but the the food plot stayed green
and lush. WHAT'S THIS ABOUT: At the ATA Archery Trade Show I discussed making a food plot with Mike Massey of the PlotSpike line of wildlife food plot products. Mike had me send soil samples from 3 different places on my deer hunting property. I did and he promptly got back with me with his recommendations and sent seeds for me to plant.PlotSpike Seeds for Wildlife offer several blends of wildlife forage mixes and wildlife nutritional supplements. More information on PlotSpike Forage Oats can be found at the company's website www.plotspike.com. PlotSpike products are available at feed stores and sporting good stores throughout the country. |
