the Web's first print on demand, custom, topographic map service, today
announced a new feature that will allow customers to select the scale of
their maps. In addition to being able to search for, center and build their
own customized, weatherproof topo maps online, customers will now be able
to order maps scaled to 1:30,000, which shows the most area; the standard
1:24,000 scale; or a more zoomed-in scale of 1:15,000.
"What sets us apart is the ability for our clients to custom-order their
own maps -- in response to our customers, we have added the new scaling
feature to allow even greater customization," said Kevin Toohill, chief
technology officer of myTopo.com.
MyTopo.com has been offering 1:30,000 scale, which covers about 148
square miles and offers relatively the same level of detail as the standard
1:24,000 scale map.
MyTopo.com offers customers the area of their choice, customized with
name and title,in either folded or poster tube. Maps are mailed in 2-3
days on high quality, waterproof, tear-resistant paper.
