| ALPINE Archery always seems to design bows that combine all that is
desired in a high performance bow. It may be a knack, uncanny knowledge
or just total dedication. Whatever it is, it's certainly evident in the
new RAVAGE. Here is a short bow, made for maneuverability and speed with
the stability and balance usually found only in longer compounds.
Bob
Proctor, ALPINE President describes the RAVAGE; "This bow integrates several
design criteria. We wanted a very short, compact bow but the stability
and balance of a longer axle-to-axle bow. This was a challenging
aspect considering how short this bow is. As we developed the design with
our state-of-the-art, solid modeling software, we were able to analyze
the mass weight and balance points. The result is a short, fast bow that
is amazingly easy and forgiving to shoot."
The RAVAGE is part of Alpine's new VX series that feature a Parallel
Limb design and Bi-Polar Riser with an "Inter-Loc" Limb Mounting System.
In addition, Alpine's patented Fast Trac one cam system with sealed ball
bearings in both the idler and the lower cam (introduced in 1997) are installed
on this hot new bow making it part of their Fast Trac Series line up. Their
unique limb system stops the limbs from moving during the shot sequence
to silence the shot and reduce vibration. The design encases the limb in
a nylon liner, preventing it from contacting the riser. This is then fitted
into an innovative limb pocket where it dampens the shock and vibration
of each shot.
The RAVAGE has a mass weight of 4 lbs, is 29" axle-to-axle with a 7.5"
brace height and comes in draw weights of 50, 60 and 70 pounds in 65 and
80% let off. It also features the Fast Trac Perimeter Weighted One Cam
System with Wide Body Technology. Draw lengths are 25" through 29". It
is available in Realtree Hardwoods Green HD camo with a two-piece wood
grip.
