Bowhunts For Wild Hogs
The first day of this wild hog hunt with Billy Don my laptop went nuts and, unfortunately, I was unable to keep up with the hunt. My computer problem was only cured by a new laptop and it has taken quite a bit of work to get the new one up to par with the former laptop.Day 1 Billy Don was at his hunting lodge when I arrived yesterday evening. We spent a couple of hours discussing plans for the 2006 Bowhunting.net Hunt with Billy Don. Then I turned in. At 6:00am Billly Don and I drank coffee and put our gear in one of his his big diesel trucks at day break. The sky was overcast. I wanted to drive around and take pictures this morning. We returned to the lodge with lots of pictures of wildlife on the ranch. To The Day 1 Pics... As I transfered the pics over to my laptop the charge level indicater began displaying plus and minus signs. The power converter got hot as the dickens. And the battery level dropped fast. We drove into Marble Falls and went to two computer stores and a Radio Shack. I purchased a new power converter at Radio Shack. By the time we returned to the hunting lodge it was late afternoon and we dicided to drive around and look for wild hog activity. We had seen a number of hogs at an area where cows come to water and eat molasas from 70 poind barrels that the ranch puts out for the livestock. But more than livestock was eating from the barrels. Wild hogs were too. We checked it out and decided where to put a Double Bull blind in the morning. Here is a picture of a young
hog so intent on licking and eating the molassas in the plastic container
that it did not see me sneak up and take its picture.
