DAY 7 During the morning hunt both John and Bryant Askew had shot opportunities on hill country does. They both made vital shots and here they are with their does. Dave Tague had planned to leave mid week but decided to stay and try for a wild turkey. After he got a big Tom he hung out another day and arrowed this nice doe. Chef Klaus definitely got his bow working right at Peacock Archery.  On the drive to his stand this afternoon he put a stalk on two wild hogs. When he got within bow range he shot the closest one and it only went a few steps. The other hog ran to the downed hog and stopped. The Chef fired a second arrow and Mike had his second wild hog. After the guide Russell dropped Mike and Cathy off near a stand site he brought the hogs back to camp and I took their pictures. Mike and Cathy hunted in a Double Bull blind and saw tow flocks of wild turkeys and several deer, all just out of bow range. Then a doe walked up behind the blind and Cathy saw it first. She tapped Mike on the shoulder and pointed to the doe. Mike's shot put the doe down in 30 yards. Here he is with the doe.  And here is the ranch foreman Russell Carpenter with Cathy Carpenter and Mike Ditchler (Chef Klaus). Roy Keefer saw a mature buck with a big rack but it stayed just out of range.
